ABOUT LINOCUTS

If Van Gogh and Robert Crumb could have had a lovechild that made black and white art, i would have liked to be that one.

Linocut is a variant of woodcut, the old relief printmaking technique. Linoleum sheets were first used as floor covering in the 19th century. It was also to be found on battleships, especially thick, hence its use by professional engravers. German artists of “Die Brücke” were the among first to use it as a means of artistic expression.
